I have always wanted to travel to other countries to expierence different cultures and enjoy scenic views. This came to life in the Spring of 2023, as I was one out of four individuals selected to travel overseas to assist with the developement of the new Paper Saturation department, which was a thrilling adventure. I spent seven weeks in Hexham, England and one week in St. Johann, Austria. During this time, I had the pleasure of meeting and working with the teams in Hexham and St. Johann.
I learned how the Paper Saturation department functions and underwent job training specific to developing knowledge to provide a successful foundation back in Lexington. Reflecting on my journey abroad as we approach the one-year mark of getting our Paper Saturation department up and running, I appreciate the time spent away from home. It's satisfying to see that all the time spent in planning for the Paper Saturation department was worth it.
An energetic team
As the shift supervisor in the Paper Saturation department, my job is to ensure we are producing the highest quality resin-saturated paper. Once we deliver the paper to the lamination department, it is then pressed onto the raw boards. My team is very energetic which is a big bonus to my employment at EGGER. Working in a manufacturing facility can be challenging, but we motivate each other to do our best. We are in the business of reaching long-term goals and short-term targets. The vision of the company and our leadership, from corporate to the immediate level, is one I can trust and will continue to work for.
My experiences here at EGGER have been unique, which is why I see it as a career full of opportunities.
