For us, wood is a working material and a valuable resource. We manufacture a wide range of products for furniture and interior design from nature's renewable resources. We act sustainably, conserve resources and protect the climate, thereby contributing to sustainable development and fulfilling our promise: More from wood.
For transparency, we offer three indicators of our environmental performance for our products, as outlined below.
Every product - including our wood-based materials - leaves traces. The CO2 footprint is one way quantify climate product’s climate impact. Our wood-based products have a minimal or negative CO2 footprint because more CO2 is bound in the product than is emitted during transport and the manufacturing process..
Resources take different lengths of time to regenerate: Wood grows back in a few decades, while fossil materials need millions of years to develop. This indicator shows how much material was obtained from renewable wood or fossil raw materials. Our coated particleboard consists of 85% renewable resources, such as wood and paper. The 15% fossil resources comprise the glue, wax and resin.
We can only conserve natural resources if we make the best possible use of existing wood. This indicator shows how well this works in practice. Our coated particleboard, for example, consists of 27% recycled material, such as old furniture parts, 32% by-products of the sawmill industry and 41% fresh resources, such as thinning wood, glue and paper.
We publish all ingredients that are used in our products. There are two different document formats for this: The EPDs ("Environmental Product Declarations"), which provides the environmental performance assessment of our products, and the EHDs ("Environmental and Health Datasheet"), which classifies the ingredients according to their contribution to the recycling economy.
